The final match for Fall River Country Club's 2011 Club Championship has been determined!  Defending Champion Brian Dempsey will meet the #2 qualifier, Kyle Duarte.  The 18-hole match will tee off at 7:20 a.m on Labor Day. 

The semi-final matches were played on Sunday, September 4th. 

In a repeat of last year's final, Brian Dempsey defeated qualifying medalist and past champion, John Carroll.  Dempsey was even par after the front, taking a significant lead into the back side, after a birdie on the 9th hole.  Carroll fought back though, making birdies on #10 and #14, while winning #15, to keep the match alive.  However, Dempsey continued to make pars and Carroll eventually ran out of holes to make up the deficit, falling by a margin of 4 & 2.  Brian will be making his third consecutive appearance in the finals, with one championship (2010) to his credit.

The #2 seed, Kyle Duarte, played the #6 seed, Joe Meaney.  Duarte birdied the 1st hole, then quickly built a solid lead, taking a sizeable lead to the 10th tee.  The match was far from over though.  Meaney won the 10th hole with a birdie and began to fight his way back too!  Joe then won the 13th and 14th holes, cutting Kyle's lead down to two holes with five remaining to play.  However, Duarte answered back immediately, winning the 15th hole, then halving the 16th, to close out the match and 3 & 2 victory.  Kyle will be making his first appearance in the FRCC Club Championship final!

In the First Division FINAL, #1 seed Frank D'Isidoro will face the #2 seed, Steve Howard.  Frank and Steve will also play their match on Monday, teeing off at 7:27 a.m.

The Second Division is in the semi-final stage, after the bracket size was re-adjusted to 16, instead of 8.  These matches will continue be played on Monday, too!  The upper bracket will feature Alex Louro against Craig Souza, while the other pits John Martland versus Fred Isenor.
