In Memory of: Mr. Alcide "Al" Morrell Dear FRCC Members, It's with a heavy heart, but also with sincere appreciation and admiration for all he did for the Fall River Country Club during 56+ years of membership, that we share the news of Mr. Al Morrell passing away on Saturday, March 8th. During those 56+ years of membership, Mr. Morrell served as both Executive Board Member and Golf Chairman. However, his care for, contributions to, and influence on the Fall River Country Club extend far beyond those positions alone. For his many actions and accomplishments on behalf of FRCC, Mr. Morrell was selected to be an Honorary Member by the Board of Directors after his first 40 years of membership. It
would be near-impossible to outline all that Mr. Morrell has done and meant to the Fall
River Country Club, but we found some apt words to share in the actual
letter sent by the Board of Directors upon his unanimous selection as an Honorary Member of the Club: "This membership is being bestowed upon you for a great number of reasons, but the primary reason because in whatever endeavor you chose to participate in, you always did it in the best interest of the Fall River Country Club." "From gravel to bridges, from Committees to elected official, you served this Club in a manner that it may never be served again. With your contacts and dedication to the Club and its membership, the Fall River Country Club would not be where it is today if it were not for Al Morrell." As we mourn the passing of Mr. Morrell, we also celebrate his life and reflect upon his numerous contributions to FRCC. He will be missed. "...no matter what, you will always have a place in Fall River you can call home, The Fall River Country Club" You can find the formal obituary for Mr. Morrell below:
